Welcome to the official site of the USS Appomattox. I would like to thank you for stopping by. This chapter of Star Trek Nashville is growing and looking for new recruits in and around the Nashville and surrounding area. This organization which was started in July of 2000 is based on some very simple principles. We are not just another fan club; rather we are becoming actively involved in our community. Some areas include volunteer work in area nursing homes, hospitals, food and toy drives as well as area beautification projects focused on keeping our planet clean. No matter what area of Star Trek you may be interested in; be it TOS, TNG, DS9 or Voyager, you will always be right at home. We are also based on family values as well. If you have children, you need not worry about the conduct of our crew. I myself have two children of my own and I want them to see Star Trek fans in a positive light. Not one filled with profanity, or vulgar and profane behavior. We want the children who may be present at one of our events to have fun, and feel that they are part of it. After all, the children shall be the ones who share the fun and fandom of Star Trek with future generations.
Ok, so now what?
Well, enlisting with the Appomattox is as easy as breeding Tribbles. Just without the after-effects. Simply stop in to one of our meetings and if you like what you see, just sign up. Because we are a new organization, we have many positions in the club open. If you see something you are interested in, please let us know. We want all members to find something in the group that they feel they may contribute to the best of their abilities. Dont' see anything you want to do but still want to be a member? No problem there, you are still part of the fun.
When and where?
Open meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at 6:00 PM Central Time. The staff and managment of Outer Limits Comics of Rivergate has donated a meeting place for us. That answer depends entirely upon you. As a member of the Appomattox, you make your experience in this group as small or as large as you want. Remember that this is something we do for fun. So you can make it whatever you want.
Star Trek Nashville
This organization is a montage of Star Trek fan organizations located in the Nashville area. Star Trek Nashville (STN) was formed to bring us closer together and allow us as individual clubs to work alongside each other while keeping their own identities. STN currently has listings for IFT, KAG and the Maqee. In short, the saying "strength in numbers" applies here.
